Knowing Protocols of Holy Spirit – Part One

“Is it Scriptural for someone to be your ‘Covering’?”

Sometimes in our lives, we take certain things for granted.  We assume that something we may know as ordinary is in fact something that many others do not know about.

Such is the case of the subject of the Protocol’s of Holy Spirit.  In walking in such a “governmental” regimentation, we sometimes do not realize that this is a topic that in truth, very few people in the body of Christ actually know about.

To realize and walk in the Protocol of Holy Ghost means to first of all, align oneself with authority that is authentic as being commissioned by God and given by His Son Jesus Christ.

This does not mean to work “under” someone who calls themselves an apostle or leader.  It should be mentioned that in some cases, people who make a demand to be called apostles do not in truth bear the fruit of that gift, but are more about a hierarch system of control.

To be honoring of a leader, that person who chooses to be at the forefront must first of all have the real fruit as outlined in the bible.  Then, in proper understanding, the people who want to align with the leader(s), will in truth recognize that the leader is walking in an identity of “Christ in them, the hope of glory.”

Then, when people choose to be a part of the good fruit of the leader, they will discover that this too will become their identity.

Now this introduction is to lead us into the subject of “covering”.

It is important to know that to be under someone or a denomination so that they can be our covering is unscriptural and is actually “anti-anointing.”

As a reminder, realize that in the scriptures, it is only the Father, or the blood of Jesus Christ, that can be our covering.

In Hebrew, the word for covering is “sakak”.  It means to hedge in or cover.

In Psalm 91:3-4 it says; “For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.”

This is but one scripture that refers to God as being our covering, our shelter.

There is another word that also in the Hebrew means to cover.  But that word, which is “kasah,” is not about a covering for shelter, but  instead has the meaning of a “piece of clothing to conceal.”

Proverbs 10:12 in the English Standard Version says, Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.”

Now it is important to know that in this scripture, the sin is not removed, but it is “Kasah” (concealed).

There is also a third Hebrew word for covering.  It is found in the King James Version and it is the Hebrew word “kaphar”.  This word actually means to cover over.  It is from this word that the King James Version translates it to mean, “make an atonement.”

This is found in Leviticus 16:15-16; “Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the veil, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat:

16 And he shall make an atonement (kaphar) for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness.”

These three Hebrew words that I have given to you are important.  But again, they have different meanings that have to do with the subject of covering.  In English, we only have one word – “covering”.

And I think that this is where the confusion has been laid.  Remember earlier when I said that man cannot be our covering, but only the Lord?  To summarize this English word of covering, let’s look at it this way.

In the way of Sakak, we find out that man cannot be a protection (covering) as much as the Lord can.

In the sense of Kasah, the blood bought saints of God must realize and acknowledge that our Lord wants us to overwhelm offenses with Love as a covering (covered).

And finally, the covering that we receive when we come to Jesus Christ as our King is for the forgiveness of sins.  In this we have a great relief, a greater joy, and an awareness that He is indeed the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

One final thought: If you are wanting a leader or leaders to be your counselors, your advisors, someone who will link arms with you in battle, protecting your back, standing strong with you, and supporting your vision(s), then that is where such organizations as International Apostolic Ministries, Harvest House International Ministries, and others can lend a hand.

In the scriptures, it tells us that “in the counsel of many you wage war.”  That is what it truly means to have a leader in your life.  And in that leader(s), you find the heart of Jesus Christ.

But realize that the word of exhortation here is “many”.  It is about those that you let be in your life as authorities rise up on your behalf and for your destiny. Yet, while this is what we must all do with each other, remember again that the question asked of people to be your covering is actually not correct.  In that request, it will be more about alignment.

We will be discussing more of the “Protocols of Holy Ghost in the very near future.

God Bless You In Jesus Christ’s Name!
